A calendar of celebrations for a historic reopening
Before officially reopening its doors to the public, a rich programme of celebrations will mark this historic reopening :
On 7 December, an inauguration ceremony will mark the reopening, with events such as the awakening of the organ, a liturgical celebration, a blessing, and songs such as the Magnificat or the Te Deum, followed by vespers.
On 8 December, the day of the Immaculate Conception, the first mass for several years will be celebrated, accompanied by the consecration of the altar.
From 8 to 15 December, each day will be marked by a solemn celebration on a specific theme.
Although much of the work has already been completed, work will continue after the cathedral reopens to the public. The next stages of the reconstruction include the restoration of the chevet and sacristy in 2025, and the installation of contemporary stained glass windows in 2026.
